Rick Bair

Rick Bair, of Washougal, passed away Tuesday, August 15,2006, at OHSU hospital in Portland, Oregon, at the age of 58. Richard Grant Bair was born September 21,1947, in Portland, Oregon, to R. Franklin Bair and Lovelle Krohn Bair. He grew up in Washougal, Washington. After graduating from Washougal High School in 1966, he attended Clark College. He served for a short time as a deputy for the Clark County Sheriff's Department, before being hired by the Camas School District as a bus driver, where he soon became the lead transportation mechanic. He retired from the school district after 33 years of service. After retirement he continued to drive buses on a part-time basis for another 6 years. In addition to his regular job, Rick was also a volunteer fireman with the Washougal Fire Department for 36 years. Rick was preceded in death by his father, Franklin, in 1987, and his sister, Louanne Marshall, in 2003. Survivors include his wife, Tina, of 21 years in Washougal; mother, Lovelle Bair, in Vancouver; sisters, Barbara Bair, in Vancouver, and Christine Kamps, in Washougal. A celebration of life service was held Friday, August 18, at 2pm at Bethel Community Church in Washougal. Private inurnment will be at the Camas Cemetery.
