Ricky was born on May 13, 1950, in
Dennison, Ohio to parents, David Edmund Boyles Jr and Anna Maxine Boyles.
Ricky started her life adventure in Ohio. She moved to both California and Oklahoma with her family. From there she went to boarding school in Gentry, Arkansas where she met the love of her life Mike Mackin. They married and lived in Keene, and Abilene before settling down and raising their three children in
Joshua, Texas. When her children were grown Mike and Ricky relocated briefly to
Bryan, Texas. After his passing, she moved back to the Cleburne area for a short time but continued her adventure to Howard, Ohio and then to
Amity, Arkansas. She found her way home again in the DFW area and Alvarado, but recently settled in Haltom City.
Ricky graduated from Ozark Academy in Gentry Arkansas in 1968. She obtained various technical certificates to help achieve whichever goal she was chasing including obtaining a CNA and becoming Microsoft Certified.
Ricky was a housewife for much of her life. Supporting her husband in his career and making sure her children grew up in a loving and caring environment was her desire. She was the PTA mom, the girl and boy scout leader, she coached peewee cheerleading, and supported her children in every single activity they could join. She found joy in caring for others. It only made sense that later she became a caregiver for the elderly and even a cook at multiple nursing homes. She taught cooking to students at Ouachita Hills Academy. There she was able to combine her love of cooking and helping young children. Ricky truly enjoyed sharing her knowledge and giving herself to others.
Ricky had two passions crafts and cooking. Her creativity and crafting knew no boundaries. It didn't matter if it was painting, doing ceramics, sewing, crocheting, making homecoming mums for half of Joshua, or any other crazy project idea her children volunteered her help on, her work was always extraordinary. Quilting was her latest obsession, and she was just as phenomenal at quilting as everything else. Her quilts are truly works of art and labors of love. If she wasn't crafting you could find her in the kitchen. Her desire to veganize any and every recipe was her goal. She would watch cooking shows and read cookbooks and find a way to make the recipe just as tasty, if not tastier, only vegan. Ricky had a strong desire to share a health message with everyone she could, and to help them achieve it in the best tasting way possible.
Ricky spent her entire life as a devoted Seventh Day Adventist. Her unwavering faith was the foundation of everything she did. She was a truly loving soul that would do anything to help someone out. She lived a very simple life and was completely content to just have enough so she could serve others.
