Robert Henry Bunton, fondly known as Bobby, was born on November 6, 1945, in Woodburn, Kentucky. He peacefully departed this life on January 18, 2025, in Bowling Green, Kentucky, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, dedication, and love for his family.
Bobby dedicated over 40 years of his life to JCPenney's, exemplifying commitment and service throughout his career. He was a proud Army veteran, having served his country with honor. His work ethic and strong sense of duty were matched only by his devotion to family and friends.
Bobby is survived by his beloved children, Vickie (Ed) Horn and Randy (Angela) Bunton, who will forever cherish the memories they created together. He was also a proud grandfather to LaSonia Horn-Walker, Montez (Andrea) Horn, LaBradford Brewer, Tia Bunton, Alandria Bunton, Iyonna Bunton, and several great-grandchildren. Bobby's siblings, Junior, Joe E., Jones, Thomas, William Herschel Bunton, Eula Johnson, Dorothy Bunton, Lucille Bunton, and Annie Woods, share the loss alongside him.
He was preceded in death by his father, Joe Herschel Bunton, and his mother, Nellie V. Lightfoot, as well as his grandparents, Dawson and Gertrude Bunton. Bobby was also united in eternal rest with his beloved wife, Mary Grace Bunton, and his granddaughter, LaDaishia Bunton.
A funeral service in honor of Bobby will be held on Friday, January 24, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Cone Funeral Home, located at 1510 Campbell Lane, Bowling Green, KY, 42104. Following the service, he will be laid to rest during the burial service at Bowling Green Gardens, located at 820 Lovers Ln, Bowling Green, KY, 42103, at 2:00 PM.
As we remember Bobby, let us celebrate his life, his contributions, and the enduring impact he made on all who had the privilege to know him. He will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered.
