FORT WORTH - Romelia Flores Reyna, 79, passed away Thursday, March 30, 2023.
Funeral Service: 9:30 a.m. Thursday, April 6, 2023, in Mount Olivet Chapel. Interment: Mount Olivet Cemetery. Rosary: 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 5, 2023, at Mount Olivet Chapel.
Romelia was born in San Luis Potosi, Mexico, on February 16, 1944. She married the love of her life, Cutberto Reyna, on March 25, 1962. They have six children together. They moved to Fort Worth, Texas, in the late 60's. Romelia worked at Leslie Locke for several years and Altamesa Nursing Home, until she retired. She enjoyed taking care of the elderly and making friends with the family members and her coworkers.
Romelia was a devout Catholic and helped with church activities. She loved cooking, sewing, knitting and spending time with her family. She thoroughly enjoyed planning and hosting parties for her children and grandchildren.
Romelia was preceded in death by her father, Marcelo Flores; brothers, Aurelio Flores and Francisco Flores; and sister, Francisca Flores.
Romelia is survived by her husband of 61 years, Cutberto Reyna of Fort Worth; six children, Mario Reyna and wife, Josie, of Fort Worth, Graciela Rios and husband, Jorge, of Fort Worth, Minerva Renteria and husband, Paul, of Fort Worth, Melinda Mitchell and husband, Eddie, of Harvard, Massachusetts, Jaime Reyna of Fort Worth, and Elvia Zarate and husband, Jorge, of Fort Worth.
She is known as Tita by her 14 grandchildren: Christina Torres, Elizabeth Burros, Erica Rios, Jorge M. Rios, Mario Reyna Jr., Natalia Reyna, Emily Mitchell, Joseph Mitchell, Jessica Mitchell, Isaac Mitchell, Jaime Reyna Jr., Jacqueline Reyna, Alyssa Gonzalez, Valerie Flores; and four great-grandchildren, David Burros, Grace Burros, Ava Curley and Ella Torres.
Survivors also include her mother, Isabel Flores of Fort Worth; brothers, Carlos Flores of Fort Worth and Enrique Flores of Fort Worth; sisters, Margaret Castillo and husband, Jack, of Fort Worth, Celia Bargas and husband, Elias, of Fort Worth, Yolanda Riojas and husband, Roy, of Fort Worth and Carmen Arreguin of Fort Worth; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
