Mr. Ronnie Dale Cothran, age 62, of Toccoa, passed away Friday, August 21, 2015 at Pruitt Health Care of Toccoa. Born September 18, 1952 in Toccoa, he was a son of the late William Dalton and Marguerite Osborne Cothran. He was a member of Broad River Baptist Church and worked with Best Buy and Quality Foods as a butcher for many years. Ronnie was an Army National Guard Veteran. Family members include his ex-wife and care-giver, Shirley Burnette Cothran of Carnesville; daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and J. J. Collins of Eastanollee; son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Tiffany Cothran of Eastanollee, and the mother of his children, Judy W. Cothran of Eastanollee; grandchildren, Scott Bohannon, Caitlin Collins, Aaron Collins, Ethan Collins, Sierra Cothran, Chloe Collins, Gracelynn Cothran, and Raelyn Harlow; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Andrew Cruz Ashley. Funeral services will be held at one o'clock Monday, August 24, 2015 from the Chapel of Whitlock Mortuary with the Rev. Jerrell Beatty and the Rev. Bruce Moore officiating. Burial will follow at Stephens Memorial Gardens with military honors provided by the Georgia National Guard. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Hal Alexander, Gallan Adams, Sandy Stephens, Ronnie Williams, Mike Cothran, Ethan Collins, Scott Bohannon, and Aaron Collins. The family will receive friends at the mortuary from 10 am until the service on Monday, August 24, 2015. Flowers are optional. Those desiring may make memorial donations to the American Cancer Society. Whitlock Mortuary is in charge of the arrangements.
