Ruth Ann Mikesell, devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, died June 9, 2024 in Fisherville, Virginia. Ruth Ann, 81, of Grottoes, Virginia and formerly of Portland, Michigan, was born October 29, 1942 in Caro, Michigan to Vernon and Verna (Rickwalt) Dennis, one of fifteen children. Ruth Ann was an active member of her church, Bethany United Methodist, enjoying many activities there and sharing her faith with others. She also enjoyed gardening, arts and crafts, word puzzles, and especially time spent with her family.
Ruth Ann is survived by her husband of 61 years, Phillip Mikesell; children, Dale (Teresa) Mikesell and Laura (Derek) Lee; grandchildren, Sam, Ben, Meagan, and Whitney; 11 great-grandchildren; siblings, Karen Dennis, Dwain Dennis, Shirley Leslie, Vernon Dennis, Patrick Williamson, Kevin Williamson, Sheila Lawson, Colleen Sue Clark, Debra Williamson, Randy Williamson, and Jo Williamson; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father, Vernon Lyle Dennis; mother and step-father, Verna and Ralph Williamson; and brothers, James "Jim" Dennis, Raymond Dennis, and Anthony Williamson.

Visitation is Sunday, June 16, 3-6:00 PM at Pray Funeral Home in Charlotte. Funeral services are Monday, June 17, 11:00 AM at Pray Funeral Home in Charlotte with Pastor Lester DeGroot officiating.
