Lynn Frank Mikesell, "Foot-n-a half" passed away at home, surrounded by his loved ones, on November 2nd, 2025, a week after his 72nd birthday. Although our hearts are broken, we are comforted knowing he is finally free from all the pain he endured for so long.
Dad was born in Grand Junction, Colorado, on October 25th, 1953, to Frank "Bud" and Corrine Mikesell. He was the caboose, with two older sisters, Lona and Cheryl. The family moved to Orem, Utah, where the kids grew up, and Lynn met his sweetheart and love of his life, Gay Fawn Allred. They were married on October 19th, 1972, and had just celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary! They have three daughters whom he loved and cherished.
Dad was an avid outdoorsman. He loved camping, hunting, fishing, and prospecting. His favorite places were the San Rafael Swell and the Uinta's. Some of the best times he had were with the TNT Muzzleloader Club, where he made many long-lasting friendships.
He enjoyed the black powder shoots and rendezvous and visiting with everyone. He made friends everywhere he went, as Dad was so kind and such a good listener-but he was a talker and could tell some stories too, that's for sure!
Dad was a skilled craftsman and could make or fix anything. His creativity and talents included woodworking, metal art, and anything else he could think up.
He worked at PDM in Provo for 29 years, where he made some great friends.
Dad is survived by his wife, Gay Fawn; daughters Kristin (Mike) Carter, Jessica (Blake) Davidson, and Melanie Mikesell. He has five grandkids: Hailee, Lainee, Paiton, Colter, and Emaree and two great-grandkids: Dawson and Walker, who all adored their grandpa, and he adored them right back. He is also survived by his sisters, Lona and Cheryl.
A celebration of life will be held from 5–7 p.m. on Friday, November 14th, at the Veterans Hall in Lindon, 185 W 200 N.
We would love for you to stop by, grab a bite to eat, and share some of your favorite memories of Dad.
