Shirley Ann Menzie

Shirley Ann Menzie, 81, of Owensboro, passed away Saturday, February 16, 2019 at the Heartford House, while under the care of Hospice of Western Kentucky. She was born January 30, 1938 in Zanesville, Ohio, to the late William Talbert and Edna Mae Mitchell Watson. Shirley attended church at Riverside Baptist Church and Life Community Church. She enjoyed spending time baking, sewing, crafts, loved to celebrate all holidays, with Christmas time being her favorite, and took great pleasure in decorating and planning weddings for her family. Shirley truly had a big heart, was caring and generous, and most of all she just wanted to spend time with her children and grand-kids. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Ronald Wayne Menzie in 2004; and her sister, Karen Mae Christly. Shirley is survived by her daughter, Sloane Ann Payne of Owensboro and her husband, Paul, formally of Knottsville; her son, Tim Menzie and his wife, Janet, of Marion, OH; six grand-kids, Steven Roberts, Christopher Roberts and Hannah Embry all of Owensboro; Jason T. Menzie of Columbus, OH, T.J. Menzie of Columbus, OH, Madeline Ray Menzie of Phoenix, AZ; 4 great grand-kids; several nieces and nephews; her beloved four legged canine friends, Bonnie Grace, Violet and Mae; and her feline friend, Ally. The memorial service for Shirley Ann Menzie will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. till time of service on Saturday at the funeral home.
