Thom was such a kind and compassionate man, who through his art and other actions made the world a more beautiful place. I will never forget his patience in helping me learn how to drive when I was a teen, his kindness to my girls, and encouragement when I began to paint again several years ago. I will miss him, and offer Bob's and my deepest condolences to Sue, Stephanie, and her family.

Biking in Alaska

I lost a close friend in December. I´ve known Thom for more than thirty years. He was an extraordinary human being. First and foremost, he was an incredibly talented artist. My first full appreciation of that was when we were vacationing together with the Misiak´s and others at a beach house. While some of us were fashioning crude castles in the sand, he was sculpting a dragon´s claw, complete with gnarled knuckles and fierce claws. He also had a quick wit, a good nature and great sense of humor. Thom and Sue enjoyed life to the fullest, and my wife Mary Ann and I were along on many of their adventures, whether they involved biking in the New Hampshire mountains, kayaking in Alaska or roaming through world-class cities. Of course, their unbounded energy always left us in the dust, but we kept up as best we could. Thom and I often shared a beer while indulging in or discussing our mutual interests in jazz and Ohio State sports. Our last encounter with Sue and Thom was spending a week last September at the beautiful mountain house that they loved so much. Thom was in pretty poor health at the time, but his wit and positive attitude were unscathed. We also got a first - hand look at Sue´s incredible devotion ( not to mention physical strength) in helping Thom through trying times.
I will miss Thom terribly.
