HITCHCOCK – Timothy Donald Thompson passed away at the age of 66 on February 11, 2025, in Galveston.
Timothy was born October 20, 1958, in Galveston. From the beginning, Tim had a heart of gold which allowed him to touch many people in his life. First, he wanted to protect his country. He joined the United States Marines in 1977 and proudly served until his honorable discharge in 1981. After leaving the military, he returned to his first love: working on cars as a mechanic which he did for more than 30 years. Tim showed his generosity by volunteering and distributing food to those in need. He also sat on the boards of HIS Ministries and the Sunshine Shop. He was a happy-go-lucky guy who kept everyone around him laughing, especially his family. He never met a pun he didn't like and would give the shirt off his back if you asked. Tim was a member of the Samish Indian Nation Tribe. His generosity and sense of humor will live with us always.
He was preceded in death by his father, Artis Leonard Thompson, Sr.; grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. J.C. Thomas.
Survivors include his wife, Charliene Thompson; mother, Patricia Thompson; daughter, Samantha Lazo; brother, Artis Leonard "Skip" Thompson, Jr. and wife, Barbara; sisters, Evelyn Arlene "E.T." Thompson, Holly Thompson Folsom and husband, Kevin; niece, Wanda Christine Thompson and husband, Griff Niekerk; cousins, Tom Ivey and wife, Karen, Allan Ivey and wife, Adriann; several grandchildren; kitty babies, Jr., Spazz and Coon.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 15, 2025, in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home, with Reverend Mark Neeley and Reverend Lee Balinas officiating.
Visitation with the family will be from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, 10412 Highway 6, Hitchcock, TX (409) 925-3501.
Memorials in the form of donations may be made in Timothy's name to HIS Ministries, Post Office Box 1426, Santa Fe, TX 77510 or Sunshine Shop, Post Office Box 681, Hitchcock, TX 77563.
