Willa Ruth "Christie" Godinez

Willa R. Christie de Godinez passed away September 1st, 2025, from a long battle with tumors in her brain. Willa was born December 31st, 1945, in Yakima, Washington, to William and Sarah Christie.
Willa was the oldest of three brothers, Ben, Ron and Roger. Willa grew up in Yakima, Washington for most of her life, but she also lived in Mexico a part of the time as well.
Willa was a teacher for most of her life. One thing she truly loved to do was teach English to kids, teenagers, and adults in Mexico. She loved to travel and be with her family. She enjoyed reading books and sewing, mostly embroidery. She was very energetic and loved to go on walks. She loved the mountains and nature.
Willa is survived by her two children, Feliciana and Guillermo, six grandchildren, Isaac, Liliana, Aragorn, Veronica, Josiah and Angelica.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, September 13th, 2025, at 10:30a.m. at New Hope Nazarene Community Church in Yakima, WA.
For those who knew Willa, and would like to pay their respects, you are welcome to attend. The family asks if you come, in honor of Willa, wear something with flowers on it. Because she loved flowers. We would like to thank everyone who has reached out to us. Thank you for your generosity, love and prayers. Our mother was loved by so many and will live on through our hearts, memories, prayers and stories. God bless you all!
