William J. Eisele, Jr., 85, passed away Thursday, May 9, 2024. William had a life well lived, full of love, respect and honor.
Born November 20, 1938 in Philadelphia, he was a son of the late William J. and Frances (Rucier) Eisele.
He graduated from Bishop Neumann High School in 1956, and enlisted in the U.S.Army and served from 1957 until he was honorably discharged in 1959.
He worked at his father's convenience store in South Philadelphia (Bills' Variety) at 29th Tasker Ave. for a time and owned the business for many years after his father's death. He then sold the business and opened his new business, cleaning for multiple airlines at the Overseas terminal in Philadelphia. Around 1976 Bill began working for the Department of Revenue for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, from where he retired after 40 years of service. During this tenure Bill was the #1 Agent with over 1 Million Dollars in back taxes collected each year. He held this title for 10 straight years. Loved his career so much he did not retire until he was 75 years old.
Bill sat on the Norwood Borough Council for years and also ran in the mayoral election for Norwood. He took most pride in his family. He spent all his free time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Never missed an event they participated in. His family was his whole world.
Always on the sideline cheering them on, Interboro football took on a new meaning for Bill when his son Billy played, he ran down the field with his camera every game.
When Kathleen opened her 1st business Bill was right there. Helping with cleaning and doing the books. Nothing was too big or small when it came to his children. His pride showed through all his life.
Bill was an avid bowler (Macdade Lanes) for years. He also loved his Rat Pack music. Dancing in the living room with blinds closed. Traveling with his daughter in the last years of his life. He zip lined in Vegas and danced at the top of a mountain under the moonlight. Bill was full of life & love.
He is survived by a daughter, Kathleen McGehean; a son, Bill (Shelley) Eisele; four grandchildren, Erin (Ken) Rucci, Eddy (Kathleen) McGehean, Matthew Salcito and Nicole (J.J.) McLucas; seven great grandchildren, Kenny, Finn, Dean, Lukas, Addie, Dalton and Francesca; a brother, Jack (Ann) Eisele and several nieces and nephews.
