Donna Riley Obituary
Naples - Donna Marie (Madsen) Riley, 85, of Naples, Florida passed away peacefully on March 20, 2021 with her loving family beside her.
Donna was born on January 20th, 1936 in Chicago, Illinois to proud parents Axel and Theresa Madsen. In 1956, Donna married the love of her life Edward F. Riley and together became longtime residents of Glenview, Illinois, raising their children there. She spent many years working at her family business, Johnson Seafood, in Evanston before moving to Florida in 1983.
Donna enjoyed Hawaiian vacations, summers fishing in Minocqua, Wisconsin, The Hallmark Channel, anything lavender and spending time with her family. She held a special place in her heart for her 4-legged friends Peanuts, Darlington and Charlie.
Donna was preceded in death by her husband, Edward in 1996. She is survived by her children, William (Margaret) Riley of Wadsworth, IL and Madeliene (Theo) Dahl of Naples, FL; grandchildren: Colin Riley, Christopher (Stephanie) Riley, Kathryn (Cody) Kabrich, Alexa Dahl; and great-grandchildren: Arianna Riley, Norah Riley, Benjamin Riley and soon to be "Baby Kabrich".
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, March 24, 2021 at 11:30 AM at Our Lady of Light Catholic Community 19680 Cypress View Dr., Ft. Myers, FL 33967. Her family will receive friends at the Church beginning at 11:00 AM. In accordance with CDC guidelines mask are required and social distancing will be observed.
Burial will follow at Naples Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Donna's name can be made to the Alzheimer's Association 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl. 17, Chicago, IL 60601 or online at www.alz.org.
