LITTLE MOUNTAIN — Claude Heyward Shealy, 76, widower of Gladys Irene Metze Shealy, died Thursday, May 17, 2018, at Newberry County Memorial Hospital.
Born on August 10, 1941, in Chapin, he was a son of the late Ernest Ardell and Bertha Sites Shealy. He was retired from SCE&G and then worked for a period with the S.C. Department of Transportation. Mr. Shealy was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church where he was the Sunday School Superintendent for over 40 years and was a member of the Little Mountain Masonic Lodge.
He is survived by daughters, Karen Irene Shealy Winn (Rodger) of Little Mountain, Shirley Jean Shealy Frick (Kelvin) of Chapin and Becky Ann Shealy Boland (Darin) of Little Mountain; a son, H. Dean Shealy (LuAnne) of Little Mountain; grandchildren, Christopher Winn (Nichole), Jessica Derrick (Blake), Bradley Shealy (Kristin), Casey Frick, Lauren Visserman (Josh), Brent Frick (Jeannine), Justin Shealy (fiancee, Katelyn Rish), Luke Frick, Curtis Boland and Ava Boland; great-grandchildren, Natalie, Dustin and Colson Winn and Kadence Derrick. He was predeceased by a grandson, Timothy Jacob Shealy and ten siblings.
Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, May 20, 2018, at St. Paul Lutheran Church by the Rev. Brent Nichols. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the church. Memorials may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church Building Fund, 2496 SC Highway 773, Pomaria, SC 29126.
Active pallbearers will be Christopher Winn, Brad Shealy, Justin Shealy, Brent Frick, Casey Frick, Luke Frick, Curtis Boland and Blake Derrick.
Honorary pallbearers will be Chad Boland and members of the Little Mountain Masonic Lodge.
