URBANA – Phyllis A. Keeran, age 74, of Yorkville passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2007, at her home.
She was born on Sept. 30, 1933, in Urbana, the daughter of Angus and Juanita (Polston) Orr.
Phyllis was united in marriage on Aug. 29, 1953, in Urbana, to Mr. Charles W. Keeran, and they spent the next 51 happy years of their lives together until his passing on Nov. 12, 2004. She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister and niece who will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
Phyllis was a graduate of Urbana High School in Urbana. She continued her education and graduated from the Methodist Hospital nursing program to become a registered nurse. Phyllis was for many years a member of the Kendall County Republican Women.
She is survived by her mother, Juanita Orr of Yorkville; her children, Brian (Lori) Keeran of Sandy, Utah, Karen (Dan) Joyce of Yorkville, Kevin (Sharon) Keeran of Buford, Ga.; her grandchildren, Kenneth Keeran, Meghan Keeran, Jessica Joyce, Jacqueline Joyce and Harrison Keeran; her two special aunts, Ruby Waldron of Pesotum and Mildred Amundson of Urbana.
She was preceded in death by her father, Angus Orr Sr.; her husband, Charles Keeran; and her brother, Angus Orr Jr.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 20, 2007, at Larson-Nelson Funeral Home in Yorkville. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 22, 2007, in the Grandview Memorial Gardens in Champaign.
Friends may visit from 11 a.m. until the hour of service on Saturday, Oct. 20, 2007, at Larson-Nelson Funeral Home, 410 E. Countryside Parkway, Yorkville.
The family of Phyllis Keeran would like to thank her caretaker, Yuna.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Phyllis' name may be directed to The Salvation Army.
