Dennis Parton Obituary
He was born on May 17, 1950, in Cleveland, son of George and Laverne (Tropf) Parton.
After he graduated from Berkshire High School in 1968, he married Marie Malliski on Aug. 23, 1970. He was a U.S. Army veteran who served from 1970 to 1974 in Korea. Dennis was a plant manager at Burton Rubber for 25 years. He co-founded Gold Key Processing LLC in Middlefield and retired in 2009. A lifelong resident of the area, Dennis was very active in the community. He served four years on the planning and zoning board and was involved with the ""shop with a cop"" program and the fishing tournaments. He enjoyed classic cars and going to the car shows. He loved being with his family and walking with his dog ""Abby.""
He will be missed by his friends and family; his beloved wife, Marie of 43 years; two daughters, Shelley (Greg) McClain of Middlefield and Kelley Parton of Roaming Shores; two grandchildren, Justin and Victoria McClain; and brother, Phillip Parton of Huntsburg.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Laverne Parton.
The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 23, 2013, at Russell Funeral Service, 15670 W. High St. (Route 87), Middlefield.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Middlefield Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made of monetary help or food to the Geauga County Dog Shelter and Warden's office, 12513 Merrit Road, Chardon, OH 44024.
