James Allen Michalski, Sr., of Madison, age 78, passed away January 19, 2023, in Geneva. Born January 7, 1945 in Cleveland to the late Joseph Michalski and the late Rosemary Meston, he lived in Mentor, Cleveland, Parma, Eastlake, and Mentor-On-The-Lake, before moving to Madison in 1985.James served in the United States Navy from 1963-1964.In his younger years he was employed as a dockworker at Leeway in Cleveland for 14 years. Later, he worked at Elastochem in Chardon. He retired as supervisor in 2012 from Thermoform Plastics in Mentor, where he had been employed for 13 years. In his spare time he liked to work in his yard, work on cars, and he loved to fish, especially with his brothers, sons, and grandson.He is survived by his wife, Kathleen M. Michalski (nee McCoy); son, James Allen Michalski, Jr.; daughters, Renee Michalski, Kathleen A. Michalski, and Karen Pasanen; grandchildren, Alexandra Michalski, Brittany Anderson, and Madison Michalski; and grandsons, Arne Pasanen and Thomas Michalski.Also, sister-in-law, Barbara Michalski; and nephews, Robert Michalski, D.J. Michalski, Edward Michalski, Scott Parsons, Ted Parsons, and Mark Golen; nieces, Jo Ann Vaccarino , Cynthia Michalski, Melanie Parsons, and Tracy Michalski; many great-nieces and great-nephews; and great-great-nephews, Gannon, Grayson, Gabriel, and Maddox. He was preceded in death by his son, Sean Patrick Michalski, on January 18, 2023. He is also preceded in death by his sister, Dolores Parsons and brother-in-law, Ellsworth Parsons; brothers, Robert Michalski and sister-in-law, Linda Michalski (nee Dewey), Raymond Michalski, and William Michalski.Arrangements are being handled by Blessings Cremation Center in Mentor. There will be no calling hours or services, per James' request.A Celebration Of Life will be scheduled at a later date.
