Mary Angela Javins

On Tuesday October 11th, 2022, Mary Angela Javins, a beloved wife, sister, mother, nana and friend, passed away. She is survived by her two daughters; Starshine Graziadei (Joseph) and Alexandria Waddell (Justin) and stepsons; Rick Javins (Denise), Scott Javins (Stephanie) and Josh Javins (Christy). She is preceded in death by her beloved husband Dennis L. Javins.Born to Robert and Doris MacGillis, Mary was a delightful and caring sister to her five brothers and two sisters. Being from a big family inspired her to always want children around. She married her husband Denny, and together they became a truly blended family, “His, Hers and Theirs”. Early on she would babysit children from the neighborhood in her home, and later volunteered as a lunch lady at Fairport Elementary where she fell in love with the school children. This heartfelt connection led her to run for school board where she served for 19 years in various positions for Fairport Harbor Schools as well as Auburn Career Center. She was passionate about her community and everyone in it.Mary dedicated her time and love to the things that mattered most, her children, her grandchildren, her family and friends, and the town where she and her husband lived for almost 40 years.She loved to garden and be outside in the sun. She was a wonderful Nana to 13 grandchildren. When she retired from the school board, Mary and Denny could always be found spending time at Headlands Beach, collecting beach glass. She was also an enthusiastic golfer, bocce ball and pickleball player.She realized early on how beautiful life truly is and would always say "don’t sweat the small stuff". She lived life to its fullest. Holiday parties, family get-togethers with all their children, vacations to Jamaica with her husband and friends, or playing scrabble on rainy days. She was gracious enough to always capture those moments for us to share, by placing herself behind the video recorder or camera. The world truly was, and is a more beautiful place for having had her in it. She will be truly missed by her friends, family and all who knew her. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes all memorial contributions would be made to the American Cancer Society or Hospice of the Western Reserve.
