Sharon Bathurst Obituary

Sharon Elaine (Harrison) Bathurst passed away at her Painesville home on January 10, 2016. She was born on May 24, 1943 in Richmond Heights, and is preceded in death by her parents William B. Harrison and Ruth M. (Arbaugh) Harrison.
A 1961 graduate of Brush High School, she earned a bachelor's degree from Fenn College, and a master's degree from Lake Erie College. Sharon worked for the Chardon Local School district as a special education teacher.
In retirement, Sharon was a long-time volunteer for the Lake Health hospitals. She enjoyed creating artistic hand-crafted greeting cards. As a lifetime cat lover, she enjoyed the company of her feline companions.
Sharon is survived by her sister Leanne (Dennis) Hamilton of Atlanta, Ga.; daughter Julianne Hammink of Tucson, Ariz., son John Hammink of Mountain View, Calif.; and stepdaughters Shona and Dana Bathurst, of Cleveland. She will be missed by all who loved her.
The family is planning a memorial service for spring, 2016.
In lieu of flowers, friends might consider making a donation to the Lake County Humane Society, Caroline's Kids, or the Public Animal Welfare Society (PAWS).

So Sharon,

You are probably feasting on Gwack-a-Mole surrounded by your cats, but I hope you remember the wonderful Holiday Family gatherings we shared - exchanging outrageous Christmas gifts, picking Grandpa Harrison's strawberries on the 4th, and rotten tomato fights on Labor Day...

We'll miss them and you.

Sharon was a wonderful person - I will always remember her as "The Little One" - this was an affectionate name Bev Thompson her friend used to call her. Sharon will be missed - God Bless!
