GEORGE MYCOCK Obituary

George S. Mycock, Jr. of Deltona, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather went to be with the Lord on February 20, 2013 at age 89. Born in Fall River and raised in Freetown, MA, much of Mr. Mycock's life was devoted to service in benevolent societies, as a 32nd Degree KCCH Mason and Worshipful Grand Master at St. John's Lodge, a member of the Bahia Shriners and a member of the Scottish Rite's Valley of Orlando Orient of Florida chapter. He also spent years in service to the community, volunteering with the Volusia County C.O.P., the Freetown (Mass.) Fire Department, and later with Aetna HH&L Fire Department as a firefighter and Captain of the Ambulance in Newark, Delaware which recently honored Mr. Mycock as a 50-year member. Mr. Mycock retired as a car hauler for M&G Convoy/Ryder Trucks in 1981 after 25 years. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Jacqueline Mycock; as well as their five children: Kathleen Gigliotti and husband Bernard, Bonnie Azevedo and husband Frank, June Sasser and husband Carl, George S. Mycock, III and wife Coleen, and Melanie Capriotti; along with nine grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, State Representative George and Mabel Mycock, and his sisters Virginia French and Joan McHugh. A memorial service will be held at Deltona Christian Church, 960 E. Normandy Blvd, Deltona at 2:00 pm on Sunday, February 24, 2013. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Halifax Health Hospice of Volusia/ Flagler in Orange City or the Shriners Children's Hospital.
