Billings - Imogene Blades, 98, of Billings, Missouri, passed away peacefully from this life on Sunday morning, August 4, 2019, surrounded by her children. She was born July 20, 1921, in Mt. Vernon, Missouri, to Clarence and Lizzie Rodgers.

She was a wonderful Christian mother, who taught her children at an early age, to follow the Lord Jesus. She delighted in her family, especially, the great grands. She loved the color of pink, having her hair done, cooking delicious meals for her family and shopping.

Imogene was united in marriage to Wayne L. Blades on January 4, 1942. They celebrated 69 years of marriage before Wayne passed away on August 1, 2011. She was also preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, Opal Brashers, Dorothy Hubbard, Hazel Wever and two brothers, William and Floyd Rodgers. She is survived by her children, Sharon and husband, Lloyd "Lefty" Evans, of Kimberling City, MO, Larry Blades of Springfield, MO, Tony and his wife Gail Blades of Springfield, MO. Grandchildren are Greg Evans (Angie), of Cape Fair, MO. Tonya Blades of Nashville, TN and Rhonda Brown (Parke) of Nashville, TN. She has five great grandchildren, Morgan (Evans) Chapman, Sydney (Evans) Roder, Blake Evans, Millie Brown and Blades Brown. Two great-great grandchildren, Waverly and Archer Chapman, two sisters-in-law, Thelma Dorrell and Madge Blades, nephews and nieces, extended family and many friends.

A visitation for Imogene will be on Friday, August 9, 2019 from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., with a service at 11:00 a.m., at Meadors Funeral Home, Republic, Missouri. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to First Baptist Church in Republic, Hospice Compassus, or The Alzheimer's Association.
