Cecil Floyd Obituary
Cecil R Floyd Sr. 78, of Altavista, died on Tuesday, May 17, 2022, at Lynchburg General Hospital.
He was a member of Penuel Baptist Church. Cecil found the love of his life, Patricia "Pat" Wilson, in grade school and that love never waned for the past 65 years. He is further survived by his son, Cecil Jr. of Charlottesville; a grandson, Trever Floyd of Ruckersville, Va.; one brother, John C. (Shirley) Floyd; a sister-in-law, Eloise Floyd; a sister of the heart, Ella Goodman; and a goddaughter, Isabella Richardson. Cecil was preceded in death by his parents, Kinckle C. and Ruth Cash Floyd; and two brothers, A. Leroy and Melvin K. Floyd.
Cecil was self employed by Floyd Equipment Repair.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 21, 2022, at Timber Ridge Baptist Cemetery, 3234 Timber Ridge Rd., Bedford, VA 24523, with the Rev. Carlton Gunter, pastor of Penuel Baptist Church, officiating. Visitation will be held from 7 until 8:30 p.m. on Friday May, 20, 2022, at Diuguid Funeral Service and Crematory, Waterlick Chapel.
The family prefers memorials be made to Penuel Baptist Church Building Fund, 2770 Wards Rd., Altavista, VA 24517.

Pat, I know you are still grieving the loss of Cecil and hope you find some comfort with fond memories. It has been seven and a half years since my Daddy died. His health went down so quickly and I miss him so much.
