John Jackson Obituary
John Paul Jackson, 83, of Gladys, passed Thursday, Sept. 16, 2010. He was the husband of the late Pearl Jackson. Born July 18, 1927, in Campbell County, he was the son of the late Clarence Jackson and the late Maria Monroe Jackson.
He is survived by a sister, Jency Pannell, of Newark, Del.; a brother, Clarence Jackson Jr., of Princeton, W.Va.; a devoted neice, Cheryl F. Patton, and her husband, Clarence, of Altavista; and a host of other relatives and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 19, 2010, at Grace Baptist church, Gladys Road, Altavista, by the Rev. Finley J. Fields, with interment in the church cemetery. Military Honors by the Virginia Army National Guard Honor Guard. A viewing will be held at the church from noon until the hour of service. The cortege will assemble at 11:30 a.m. at the residence of Clarence and Cheryl Patton, 87 Carr Road, Altavista.
