Richard Lee Stevens

1958 - 2022

Richard Lee "Rick" Stevens, 64, of Forest, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family, on Wednesday, October 12, 2022. He was the husband of Cheryl Britton Stevens.

Rick was born in Lynchburg, on September 26, 1958, a son of the late John Murray Stevens Jr. and Dorothy Milam Stevens. He was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church and was retired from Sentry Equipment of Forest.

In addition to his wife, he survived by a daughter, Sommer Stevens of Durham, N.C.; a son, Austin Stevens of Lynchburg; beloved dog, Cooper; brother, John "Steve" Murray Stevens III (Dee) of Charlottesville; half-brother, Danny Witt; and sister-in-law, Carolyn Witt, both of Lynchburg. He was preceded in death by two sons, Dustin Chase Stevens and Casey Lee Stevens; and half-brother, Kenneth Witt.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, October 16, 2022, at Ebenezer Baptist Church by the Rev. Jamie Adams and the Rev. Johnny Roberts. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 7:30 p.m. Friday, October 14, 2022, at Forest United Methodist Church. Also in the fellowship hall following the service at Ebenezer.
