Joseph Gotshall Obituary


Joseph S. Gotshall, 85,of Hummelstown, Pennsylvania, formerly of Cherry Hill, NJ and Panama City. FL, passed away on Aug. 26, 2012 in the Middletown Home.

He was born in Middletown, PA, son of the late John and Marie Gotshall. Joseph graduated from Hershey High, class of 1944 and Gettysburg College. He served in the U.S. Army Air Force. Joe was employed at the former Olmsted Air Force Base in Middletown, where he worked in Defense Contract Administrative Services until retirement.

Memberships include: Holy Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Hershey; AARP; NARFE; and the Middletown American Legion. Joe had his private pilots license. He also enjoyed dancing, the ocean and beaches as well as sunsets. He was loved very much by his family and friends and will be greatly missed.

Joseph is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Germaine (Jensen) Gotshall; sister - Ruth Ann Sheaffer; niece - Cindy Sheaffer; nephew - Gary Sheaffer and his wife Patty.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Aug. 30, 2012 at 11 a.m. in his church. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in the Middletown Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions be made in Joseph's memory to Holy Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 212 Cocoa Ave. Hershey, PA 17033.
