ELYSBURG — Helen Oros, 95, of Elysburg, passed away Monday, June 5, 2017, at Mountain View: A Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Coal Township.
She was born in Marion Heights July 19, 1921, a daughter of the late John and Susan (Olejnicik) Oros.
She graduated from FDR Memorial High School in 1939.
She worked at the Arrow Company, Massers and Knoebels in the catering departments.
She was a member of Queen of Most Holy Rosary Church, Elysburg.
She was a member of Elysburg Senior Action Center and an avid traveler who enjoyed casino bus trips with her best friends, Violet and Gloria.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, John and George; and five sisters, Anna Macro, Margaret Babco, Mary Yoncovic, Betty Vasko and Anna Pittinger.
OROS — Helen Oros, 95, of Elysburg. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Queen of the Most Holy Rosary Church, Elysburg, at 11 a.m. Monday, with Rev. Joseph T. Scanlin as celebrant. Interment following Mass will be in All Saints Cemetery, Elysburg. Rothermel-Heizenroth Funeral and Cremation Service, Elysburg, is in charge. Joseph Murray, supervisor.
