MOUNT CARMEL — Irene LeComte, 84, of 144 W. Third St., passed away Monday, Aug. 14, 2017, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
She was born in Mount Carmel on Sept. 27, 1932, a daughter of the late John and Sophie (Harrison) Homanick.
Irene attended Mount Carmel schools and a member of SS Peter & Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church.
She was employed by Revlon, retiring in 1986. Prior to that she worked in the Mount Carmel Cigar Factory. She loved spending time with her family and loved the company of her dogs, Toro and Bruno. She enjoyed playing bingo and going to the casino.
She was married in New Jersey to the late Louis LeComte, who preceded her in death in 1998.
Survivors include two sisters, Dorothy Currin and her husband, John, of Elysburg, and Alga Pirllo, of New Jersey; a sister-in-law, Emily Homanick, of Mount Carmel; some stepchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by ten siblings.
LECOMTE — Irene LeComte, 84, of 144 W. Third St., Mount Carmel. A chapel service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, at the Franklin Memorial Park, 1800 NJ-27, North Brunswick Township, New Jersey, with her nephew Dennis Currin presiding, followed by a mausoleum interment. C.J. Lucas Funeral Home, Inc., 27 N. Vine St., Mount Carmel, C.J. Lucas IV, supervisor, is assisting the family with arrangements.
