CATAWISSA - John W. Reed, 60, of Catawissa, and a native of Mount Carmel, passed away very peacefully following a long battle with Lou Gehrig's Disease, Saturday, Sept. 17, 2022, surrounded by family at his residence.
He was born in Fountain Springs at the former Ashland State General Hospital, Nov. 16, 1961, a son of late Walter Reed and Rita McIntyre Bierowski.
He attended Mount Carmel Area High School.
He was employed as a yard jockey for Autoneum Automotive of North America, in Bloomsburg, until his retirement.
John was a strong, courageous man, a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was an avid hunter, animal lover and very strong follower of Jesus Christ.
John attended LCBC Church, in Bloomsburg.
Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Beth Stecker Reed; his sons, Evan Reed and his wife, Kendall, of Catawissa, and Hayden Reed and his fiancee, Kailee Gulley, of Scottsdale, Arizona; his sister, Mary Carol Bechtel, of Ashland; his brother, Robert Reed and his wife, Gretchen, of Marion Heights; and his grandchildren, Paisley and Brantley Jurinko.
