Doug (and the entire Kenney family) were our neighbors growing up on Upland Street in Arlingon, where Doug and his sisters, and me and my siblings all attended Yorktown High School at about the same time.
Doug was always a good neighbor, and kept in touch with our mom, even after moving to Alaska, which she always appreciated.
As my sons advanced through Scouts, and posted items on Facebook, he always commented even though he had never met them, which I always appreciated.
Rest in peace, condolences to his sisters and all the family.

I moved to Hawaii but Doug and I would speak occasionally. He was truly the greatest Raiders fan I've ever known, I'm a Chargers fan and we loved making him an honorary part of the Polar Bolts Fan Club.Doug was a kindred spirit and we loved having him around.
Rest in Love Brother! I'll always think about you especially when your Raiders and Chargers meet two times a year. You're never going to be forgotten!

Doug, I'm very sorry to hear of your passing. This was way too early. Thank you for being a great friend to my brother. Thank you for being crazy you, we wouldn't have wanted you to be any other way. I will think of you whenever I hear those funny bunny names ... Miss America, Thumper, Wild Thing ... I know that you loved Alaska, but you also dearly loved your siblings and all of their/your family on the other coast. Rest easy, brother!

Doug, you truly were one of a kind. An unforgettable character. Fairbanks will never see your like again. While the rest of us toil away here in life, you are now at peace. Rest easy, Doug. See you soon.

Doug, You had an unmatched zest for life and a refreshing disinterest in pretense of any sort - I'll miss these a lot. You also packed more into your 61 years than pretty much most people who will live longer than you; in my book, that means you led a great life and should therefore be at peace.

Doug, I will miss your zany attitude and poetic spirit. I'm sorry that my husband and I didn't get to Alaska for a visit, thought there was so much time. I hope your passing was peaceful. Your NOVA childhood friends will remember you. Go Raiders!

I can't believe you are gone. I will miss your stories so much. You always found a way to brighten up my day. It truly was a pleasure knowing you. You were always willing to lend a helping hand or good bit of advice. The world is a better place for your having been it. Thank you for everything you did. You will truly be missed my friend.
