Wendell Zesiger Obituary

Wendell Harold Zesiger, 80, passed away August 2, 2023, at his homestead in North Pole, Alaska, where he had lived for the last 55 years.
Wendell was born in Garfield, Washington, on October 9, 1942. He was raised on the Mary Ann Ranch in Molson, Washington. In 1964, he married Lyndann "Lyndy" Syring. Wendell joined the Army and served in Vietnam as a helicopter and sheet metal mechanic.
In 1968, Wendell moved his wife and son to Fairbanks, Alaska. He purchased a 45-acre homestead beside the Chena River where he built a log home for his growing family. Wendell and Lyndy always had a large garden with extra to share. They grew acres of potatoes for sale and hay for the many animals they raised.
In Alaska, Wendell worked as a sheet metal mechanic and ran heavy equipment. He owned and enjoyed flying small planes and had a love for rocks and mining. He was a devoted believer in the Lord Jesus Christ and strived to help those who struggled in life.
Wendell is survived by his six children, Lyndell Zesiger, Laurie (David) Mowery, Andrew Zesiger, Timothy (Gretchen) Zesiger, Jennie (David) Robinson, and Bethany (Isaac) Drake, 31 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and his siblings Annabelle (Vernon) Scriven, Ellen (John) Newton, and John (Kathleen) Zesiger. He was preceded in death by Lyndy his wife of 40 years, parents Harold and Harriette, brother Warren, step-mother Elizabeth, step-sister Mary, daughter-in-law Sarah Zesiger, and grandson Ryan Zesiger.

Family laid Wendell to rest on Aug. 6 at the Salcha Cemetery.

My Friend!
Wendell's family was my family for a time in my own life, so much so, that that effect remained even after his own children were grown up and married. Wendell would admonish me, and others who held the Saviour as dear, so much as I know, to 'Stand' and to exercise faith toward him, our Lord Jesus Christ.
Jesus Paid it all.
In my hand no price I bring, simply to thy cross I cling.

My friend! We shared Alaska adventures together. His family was my family. Wendell often admonished me, and I believe others who hold dear the Lord Jesus Christ, to 'stand' and that it is 'faith' toward our Saviour which we are to exercise.
Jesus Paid it all.
In my hand no price I bring, simply to thy cross I cling.

I shared many cups of coffee and good fellowship with Wendall along with a few other local guys at McDonalds. Wendall always had a good message to share relating to our lord and savior. Thats what i remember most about him. His gentle and meaningful demeanor set him apart from many. May you rest peacefully now Wendell thank you for always setting a good example as to how a good christian should relate to others.
