Anita Beck of Wake Forest, NC peacefully departed this world after an extended illness. She was a lively soul who enjoyed the game of golf, time at the beach with friends, adventures of traveling the world, a good book, engaging conversation and a good laugh. She was a strong and determined woman who embraced the challenges of life with a spirit of learning, sharing and growing through experience. Her life was enriched with meaningful life-long friendships and the joy of wonderful grandchildren. She now rests in everlasting peace and comfort in heaven through the mercy of God.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Avery and Evelyn Beck as well as ex-husband Macon James "Jim" Johnson Jr.
She is survived by daughter Amy Heinbockel Burgoyne (Bill), grandchildren Jack, Anna and Will of Richmond, VA, brother Larry E. Beck Sr. and sister-in-law Ellen Mood-Beck of Bermuda Run, NC, and nephew Larry E. Beck Jr. Her beloved caregiver Petra Dorsey brought her comfort and laughter and was a steadfast companion in her last years.
Services will be held at Bright Funeral Home's chapel in Wake Forest on August 4, 2018. A visitation at 1:00 will be followed by a memorial service at 2:00. A private burial will follow in Lexington, NC.
