Benjamin Morris Obituary

Mr. Benjamin Franklin "Ben" Morris, 76, of 512 Godwin Avenue, died Thursday, March 28, 2002 at Duke University Medical Center. Funeral service 3 p.m. Saturday, March 30, 2002 at Godwin Heights Baptist Church with the Dr. Lynn Bullock officiating. Entombment at Gardens of Faith Mausoleum.
A retired Businessman of Olympia Cafe and Osterneck Co., Mr. Morris was a member of Godwin Heights Baptist Church, a US Navy veteran during World War II, member of the Loyal Order of Moose, Former City Councilman, Pony League Football and Babe Ruth Baseball Coach and Deacon at Godwin HeightsBaptist Church. He loved gardening and sharing with others.
Surviving: spouse, Peggy Morris of the home; one son, Benjamin Morris of Willow Spring; two daughters, Beverly Sanderson of York, SC and Susan Garvin of Newton; two brothers, Joe Morrisof SC and Monroe Butler of NC; one sister, Edna Phillips of SC; five grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Friday night from 7-9 p.m. at Floyd Mortuary and Crematory, Inc. in Lumberton and at other times at the home.
In lieu of flowers, donations to charity of one's choice.
