Charles Schwarzweller Obituary

Charles B. "Bernie" Schwarzweller, 89, of Beaufort died Friday, December 22, 2006, at home.
He was born on October 14, 1917 in Gibbs, Missouri to the late Charles Jacob and Gertrude Brandt Schwarzweller. He served in the United States Marine Corps during World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War. After 30 years of service, he retired as a Gunnery Sergeant. He was an active member of St. Egbert Catholic Church where he was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was also a longtime volunteer for senior meals for the handicapped and he was well loved for his sense of humor by all his children and friends alike.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 27, 2006 at St. Egbert Catholic Church with Monsignor Frank Moeslein officiating. Burial will follow at Onslow Memorial Park, Jacksonville.
Survivors: daughters, Theresa Catherine Corbin and husband, George of Havelock, Mary Lewis and husband, Steve of Raleigh, Anita Irene James and husband, Gary of Marysville, TN; sons,Charles Fredrick Schwarzweller and wife, Sharon of Andover, KS, John Michael Schwarzweller and wife, Tracey of Willow Springs, NC, Patrick David Schwarzweller of Santa Monica, CA, Thomas Christopher Schwarzweller and wife, Susan of Reisterstown, MD; 19 grandchildren; 16 great- grandchildren; four great-great- grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Lucile Schwarzweller, daughters, Joan Elizabeth Sadlar, Grace Gertrude Schwarzweller, Christine Marie Jones, and son, Paul Francis Schwarzweller.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. with a Rosary said at 7:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Egbert Catholic Church, 1706 Evans Street, Morehead City, NC 28557.
