Dewey Brantley Obituary

Dewey Lee Brantley, Sr., 78, passed away Monday, August 30, 2004 at his home. He was born May 17, 1926 in Nash County, son of the late Walter B. and Lessie Brantley. Mr. Brantley was a member of Union Hope Baptist Church. He loved his family, as well as helping those in need.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Daisy Louise Brantley.
He leaves to cherish his memory, two daughters, Sandi Williams and husband, Bill of Bailey, and Marsha Samonia of the home; one son, Dewey "Lee" Brantley, Jr., and wife, Jenny of Wilson; two brothers, Wallace Brantley and wife, Ann, and Bobby Brantley, both of Zebulon; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, August 31, 2004 from 7:00 to 8:30 PM at Union Hope Baptist Church and also on Wednesday, September 1, 2004 from 2:00 to 3:00 PM at the church.
Funeral services will follow at 3:00 PM at the church, with Rev. Jack Bryant and Rev. Steve Edmondson officiating. Burial will follow at Union Hope Baptist Church Cemetery.
Flowers will be accepted or contributions may be made to the church or charity of one's choice.
Arrangements are entrusted to Bowling Funeral Home & Crematory, 661 English Road, Rocky Mount, NC 27804.
