Harold Lloyd Mills Jr.

Harold Lloyd Mills, Jr., 53, died Monday, January 24 at Rex Hospital after a courageous battle with colon cancer. Born November 8, 1951 in Greenville, NC, he was the son of Martha Whitehurst Mills and the late H. Lloyd Mills, Sr.
He received a BS from East Carolina University in 1973 and a MA in Education in 1975. Beginning his career as an instructor of Business Education at Wilson County Technical Institute, Mr. Mills later moved into the healthcare management field and at the time of his death had been a consultant with Healthcare Consulting, Inc. of Greensboro, NC. Mr. Mills was active in his communities being a charter member of the All American Kiwanis Club in Wilson, and actively participating in various civic organizations such as Habitat for Humanity.
A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Friday at the Church of the Good Shepherd. Entombment will follow in the church columbarium. The family will receive friends at the church immediately following the service.
Surviving are: his wife, Deborah Vann Mills; son, David Newell Mills of LaGrange; daughter, Mary Hannah Mills of Greensboro and Raleigh; mother, Martha Whitehurst Mills of Greenville, NC; brother, Samuel A. Mills of Greenville, NC; sister, Carolyn Mills Davis of Goldsboro, NC; numerous nieces and nephews.
