James Fair Obituary

In the afternoon of September 10, 2014, James Allen Fair (31) passed away peacefully at the Hock Family Pavilion Hospice Center, after battling cancer for a year and a half. James resided with his wife, Elizabeth Overby Fair, in Raleigh, NC.
James was born in Aurora, IL to Michael E. Fair and Juanita "Trudi" Neptune. He is survived by his parents, his brothers Richard and John Fair, and his sister Andrea Brune.
James will be remembered for his unwavering focus and determined attitude, which he exhibited while pursuing his education at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Masters of Accounting program, and then while pursuing a promising career as the Chief Accounting Officer at Vantage South Bank.
Those close to James, however, will also remember him for his quick wit and clever sense of humor. His hobbies mainly included sports such as golf, basketball, and soccer. Forever a Tar Heel at heart, James helped operate the video boards for Tar Heel football and basketball games. He was surrounded by great friends and leaves behind memories of good times, especially at "Camp Carter." He will be remembered for the enthusiasm with which he lived, and his ability to maintain his faith through even his most difficult times. James was loved and respected by all who had the privilege to share in his life.
Services will be held Saturday, September 13, 2014, at Poole Funeral Home located at 944 Old Knight Road, Knightdale, NC 27545. Family visitation will begin at 12:30 PM at the funeral home, and the memorial service will begin at 2 PM in the chapel at the same address. Following the service, family and friends are invited to Elizabeth and James's home located at 2912 Candlehurst Lane, Raleigh, NC 27616.
Family will not be receiving guests at the residence prior to the visitation.
Family is requesting no flowers or plants. Please make contributions in James's memory to the UNC Children's Hospital. Their Website is ncchildrenshospital.org. Notice of memorials can be sent to Elizabeth's home address.

We all yearn for better conditions.
