Junius Dillard Obituary

AUGUST 25, 1925 - MAY 11, 2008
Junius Everette Dillard, 82, died Sunday. Mr. Dillard was a native of Wake County, and the son of the late Julius Dillard and Sallie McGhee Dillard. He was employed with Hudson Belk Department Stores in Raleigh for more than 36 years, and was a lifetime member of Ebenezer Community Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his two sisters, Macie D. Hill and Rachel D. McDowell.
Mr. Dillard is survived by his wife of 58 years, Edna Saintsing Dillard of the home; a son, Michael Dillard and his wife, Linda of Raleigh; a daughter, Cynthia D. McPherson and her husband, Anthony of Whiteville, NC; four grandchildren, Jonathan and Jeremy Dillard, Jennifer D. Connor and Jacob McPherson; two great-granddaughters, Hayley and McKenzie.
The family will receive friends 7:00-9:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at Bryan-Lee Funeral Home, 831 Wake Forest Rd. Raleigh.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 14, 2008 at Ebenezer Community Baptist Church, 7808 Ebenezer Church Rd. Burial will follow at Brier Creek Memorial Gardens.
Memorial contributions may be made to Ebenezer Community Baptist Church, 7808 Ebenezer Church Rd. Raleigh, NC 27612 or to the Durham Highway Fire Dept., 11905 Norwood Rd. Raleigh, NC 27613.

Praise the LORD for his faithfull servant. As the LORD rejoices in Psalms 116:15, he is also the God of comfort during this most trying time. As I mourn for the loss of my dear brother I also rejoice in the LORD as his eternal journey begins.
