Mark Sisk Obituary

Mark Edward Sisk

Spartanburg, SC

Mark Edward Sisk, 47 passed away on Saturday, May 28, 2016 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.  He was the son of Katherine (Philbrick) and the late Edward H Sisk.

A native of Concord, New Hampshire, Mark was known as a 'Gentle Giant' by many not only for his size but his enormous spirit as well.  He graduated from Appalachian State University and had many adventures from an early age in playing hockey, baseball, tennis, and his guitar.  His other talents were exhibited in his vocation as an aviation mechanic and airplane scale modeler, both inspired by his incredible love of airplanes after watching the Blue Angels at age 2.  His intellect, strength, independence, and his ability to be a "Best Friend" were the attributes that made Mark the man he was, especially to his beloved Jack Russell, 'Olive'.

Left to cherish the memories besides his Mother are a brother, Cole L. Sisk; a sister, Leah M. Sisk; two nieces: Matrayia and Kyerstein Stanford, many family members and friends in both New Hampshire and North Carolina.

Miss Kay & family,
I know we never met in person although we have spoken on the phone. Mark & I met in NC only to find out we were both from New England but it took us both being in NH to finally meet face to face. We hit it off right away. We both had a love of flying and both lost our dads to cancer. Not to mention our love for the Red Sox & Patriots. Mark got me through some tough times on the phone. I will miss our talks and his 'Markisms' as I called them! I am so deeply sorry! I have no words and my heart is broken as I'm sure all of yours are as well. I only wish I could take the pain away. He was a great man and always made me and everyone around him feel like they were the only person around. He had such a huge caring heart. Please... If there is anything I can do just reach out. I only wish we had someone like him now to talk to and to get us all through this loss.

With love & prayers,
Kim

My sincere offering of condolences in the midst of this most tremendous loss for all of us. Mark created something wonderful in the friendships that he built in Boone, and that creation will never be taken away from us. Our hearts break from this sad moment, but the love and awesome adventure that we all shared will help us heal. My hope is that it flows from us down here in NC to his family and friends elsewhere.

Deeply sad to hear of Mark's passing. A wonderful person who I liked and admired a great deal. Smart, funny, creative, accomplished, and independent. Just a super guy, an original, and will be greatly missed. My condolences to his family.
