Dr. Lucas was one of my mentors at the Durham VAMC. He was one of my favorites. I learned a lot from him, and he was very caring and responsive to me and my fellow interns, helping to shape our career paths. He will surely be missed. The world was positively impacted by his life...a life well-lived.

He was my favorite college professor at UNC. I often think of him and just did a quick google search and found this page. I know it´s been a couple of years but sending my condolences to the family. He was a truly special man.

Wendy and family -- I'm so sorry for your loss. Richard was a beloved member of our Colony Hill community and it isn't quite the same without him here. I will always remember his great smile and excellent sense of humor. He is missed.
