Harold Levey

Dr. Harold Levey, previously of Grand Street in Danbury, passed away suddenly on April 7, 2010 at age 97. Dr. Levey was born and educated in New York and practiced podiatry at his home office in Danbury for 40 years before retiring to Deerfield Beach, Fla. in 1980. He was the beloved husband of the former Phyllis Forschner, born in Bridgeport, until her death in 1983. During World War II, he was proud to have been a pilot in the Civil Air Patrol, patrolling the coastal waters of the eastern seaboard. He enjoyed dining out, dancing and traveling with friends and family. His best friends were Pat and the late Walter Larsen of Danbury. His favorite toast was, "Long, happy, healthy, prosperous life!" He is survived by his loving and caring daughter, Roberta Levey, and her husband, Kevin Scrivner of Deerfield, N.H. He was prede-ceased by his beloved son, Dr. Stephen Levey and his daughter-in-law, Susan Lampel Levey in 1981. Burial took place in Knollwood Cemetary in Queens, N.Y. with graveside services conducted by his nephew, Rabbi Jan Katzew and his wife, Cantor Alane Katzew.
