Jill B. Mossbarger, 46, of Sandy Hook passed away on Wednesday September 19th, 2012, due to complications from cancer. Jill was born on February 18th, 1966 in Passaic, NJ to Michael Bonaroti and Lynne FeightnerBonaroti who both survive her. She grew up in West Chester, PA, graduating from West Chester East High School before attending the University of Delaware. Having earned a BS degree in Education, Jill taught middle school math for six years before making the decision to stay home and raise her family. It was also at the University of Delaware where she met her husband of 22 years, Michael R. Mossbarger who also survives her. While Jill focused on raising her three children she moved to Chicago, Jacksonville, back to West Chester, Cleveland, and finally Newtown. She spent the last six years living in Newtown and was an active leader of the PTSA's and supporter of other programs at the Intermediate, Middle, and High Schools. Her love for supporting and assisting in the schools has long been one of her greatest assets regardless of which town she has lived. Additionally, she was a frequent team manager of her children's sports teams which brought her great joy. She is survived by her sons Michael (18) and Matthew (16) as well as her daughter Katie (14) In addition to the family members above, she is survived by her sisters Lee Ann Evans (Dave) and Amy Timson (Stan) as well as 3 nephews and 3 nieces from those families. Friends may call at the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main St. Newtown, Friday, September21st from 5:00pm to 8:00pm as well as from 9:00am to 10:15am on Saturday, September 22nd. A service will be celebrated at Walnut Hill Community Church, 156 Walnut Hill Rd., Bethel on Saturday, September 22nd at 11am. Interment will take place Monday morning, September 24th at Birmingham Lafayette Cemetery in West Chester, PA. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for memorial donations to be made to the American Cancer Society, www.cancer.org.
