Died: January 4, 2025 in Ottawa, IL
Adolph G. "Butch" Orio, 84, of LaSalle, passed away Saturday, January 4, 2025 at OSF St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Ottawa.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, January 10, 2025, at the Mueller-Pagani Funeral Home, LaSalle with Rev. Thomas Otto, pastor of the LaSalle Catholic Parishes, officiating. Burial will follow in the Troy Grove Cemetery with full military rites conducted by the U.S. Marine Corps and the LaSalle-Oglesby Veterans Memorial Group. Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM until the time of services Friday at the funeral home.
Mr. Orio was born on July 12, 1940, in Oglesby, the son of Adolpho and Catherine (Valentino) Orio. He graduated from LaSalle-Peru Township High School and Summa Cum Laude from Illinois Valley Community College. Butch married Johanna Bernard in LaSalle on May 2, 1964. He served in the United States Seagoing Marines for three years. Butch then served with the State of Illinois as a State Trooper for 28 years, retiring as a Master Sergeant on December 31, 1991.
Butch was a member of the Monday Poker group, Marine Corp Association activities, Fraternal Order of Police, International Police Association, and ROMEOS. He enjoyed working around the yard and home.
He is survived by his wife, Johanna; special caregivers, Pat and Paul Kenny; nieces; nephews; and special loves, Princess, Duke, and Baron.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Gloria George and Nadine Holdenrid; three nephews; and one niece.
