Peru, IL – Glenn L. Sterling, 81, of Peru died at 2:00 PM, Sunday, January 8, 2023 at St. Joseph's Medical Center in Bloomington.
There will be no visitation as his body was donated to Science Care Of Illinois in hope of helping future generations through improved scientific research and education. Once research has concluded, his remains will be cremated and returned to the family. Once the remains are returned, a Celebration of Glenn's life will be planned. Glenn was born on August 26, 1941 in Spring Valley, IL., the son of Conway and Mary D. (Rue) Sterling. Survivors include wife; Charmaine (Johnson) Sterling of Oglesby, IL, son; Kevin (Mary Jo) Sterling of LaSalle, IL, two grandsons; Cody and Ian Sterling of LaSalle, IL, four brothers; Earl Sterling of LaSalle, IL, Henry (Kathy) Sterling of Joliet, IL, Albert (Terri) Sterling of Gilbert, AZ and Louis Sterling of Peoria, IL, four sisters; Sharon Steen of Hennepin, IL, Betty Moore of Avon Park, FL, Virginia Garza of Big Rock, IL and Gaylene (George) Harden of Arlington, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers (William, Junior, James and John).
Glenn worked as a truck driver and loved driving his big rig down the highways of America. He loved to cook and share his cooking skills with others. He made sure his family was taken care of and would help anyone that needed it. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Glenn, "Keep on Truckin" down the neverending highways in the sky! you will be greatly missed by all.
