HARRINGTON - Christopher "Teal" Oberholtzer passed away on Tuesday, August 30, 2022.
Teal was born in Dover, Delaware to Laura Bramble Oberholtzer and Christopher Oberholtzer. Teal grew up in Smyrna, Delaware, and graduated from Smyrna High School in 2012. Teal was a true entrepreneur who had the craft and ability to make something out of nothing, always to better himself financially. Teal worked as a professional crabber as well as for the state of Delaware in the DelDOT division.
Teal was an avid crabber and loved being on the water enjoying nature's bounty of the sea. He was a skilled auto repair technician and was never afraid to rebuild a car or his beloved red truck. There was nothing more in life that brought him as much joy as his son, Brayden. He and Brayden enjoyed riding motorcycles together, camping, fishing, crabbing, or just spending time with family and his loyal companion, Trooper.
He is survived by his 5 year old son, Brayden; mother, Laura Oberholtzer and step-father Matt Hawk of Townsend, DE; father, Christopher Oberholtzer and step-mother Deneen Oberholtzer of Lewes, DE; sisters, Nicole Kenton of Harrington, DE, and Courtney Kenton (John) of Dover, DE; step-sister, Nikki Hawk (Ernie) of Hanover, PA; nieces, Riley Bell of Harrington, DE, Aubrey Anderson of Dover, DE, Bella Hieber of Hanover, PA; nephews, Kade Hawk, and Tristian Hieber of Hanover, PA; maternal grandparents, Janet and Louis Martin of Smyrna, DE, Clifford and Ruth Bramble of Felton; DE; paternal grandparents, Ray and Lydia Oberholtzer of Delaware City, DE; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins who loved him dearly.
Memorial services will be held 1 p.m., Thursday, September 8, 2022, at Torbert Funeral Chapel, 1145 E. Lebanon Road, Dover, Delaware. Friends may visit one hour prior.
