Jaclyn D'Auria Obituary

Jaclyn Cody D'Auria
Jaclyn Cody D'Auria entered into eternal rest on January 13, 2022. How do you write about a woman who could always give the writer the words to say? I will tell you how - you just do it. Jackie would have said "just do it". Jackie was a beautiful, courageous, strong willed and passionate person. She was born on February 21, 1952, to the late Thomas and Jane Jenkins Cody, Sr., and would have turned 70 years old in a few short weeks. Jackie grew up in Milford, CT, where she attended Lauralton Hall class of 1970. From there she attended the University of Rhode Island and graduated from Baypath University. Shortly after, Jackie became a licensed Funeral Director and began working with her father, Thomas Cody Sr., at Cody White Funeral Home alongside her two brothers, Thomas Cody Jr. and Kevin Cody. Jackie had one of the kindest hearts and this was shown through her development of "The Caring Network" an ongoing support program for adults who have suffered a loss through death.
Aside from being a Funeral Director, Jackie was licensed to sell insurance, a licensed realtor, and as her family would say "she was the boss". One of Jackie's passions was Lauralton Hall where she served as Chairman of the Board of Trustees for two years and received Lauralton's prestigious Claven Award in 2005. Jackie met her beloved husband in 1970 at a block party in Milford. A close cousin and a friend said to John, "go dance with her" and it was from that exact moment Jackie knew she had found her soulmate. Jackie and John enjoyed traveling to Aruba, where Jackie found peace and tranquility. In addition, she enjoyed decorating her home or providing her children with ideas on how to decorate. She was immensely creative and had a true gift and brilliant eye to see the beauty in life. Jackie also had a passion for essential oils, crystal rocks and sea glass. Jackie was one of the most spiritual people you could encounter, which provides her family and friends with comfort knowing she is happy, safe and at peace with God.
Jackie is survived by her beloved husband John Joseph D'Auria, her three children: Michael Cody D'Auria, Robert Cody D'Auria, Kathryn-Mary Cody Falzarano and husband Mathew James Falzarano and beloved granddaughter Rachel Rose Falzarano; brothers and sister Thomas Cody Jr., and wife Susan Cody, Kevin Cody and wife Chrystine Cody, Christopher Cody and wife Christine Gonillo and Nora Cody and her husband John Lipsky; nephews Brian Cody (Megan), Michael Cody (Kath), and niece Nora Beth McKenna; sister in-law Denise D'Auria Odell and husband John and their children Jennifer Odell, Stephanie Odell Bolstridge and Matthew Odell. Several great nieces and nephews and cousins. Lastly, Jackie is survived by her ultimate confidant and best friend, Betsy Buonocore and her husband, John's cousin, Gary Buonocore.
