Jeanette Davis Obituary
Jeanette W Davis, known as "Gene" by friends and family, died peacefully on July 9, 2022 after a brief illness at the age of 96. Gene was born in New Haven, CT and taught kindergarten in Hamden, CT for many years while living in Orange. She also lived on Block Island, RI for 25 years, in Mystic, CT, and most recently in Rockland, Maine. Gene is predeceased by her husband, George B. Davis Jr. Gene leaves behind three children, George, Elizabeth and Barbara; and their spouses and five grandchildren. Donations to the Block Island Rescue Squad and BI Medical Center in honor of her memory are requested in lieu of flowers. A Memorial Service will be held at the Block Island Maritime Institute on Thursday, August 25, 2022 at 4 pm.
