Luella Hughes Eastwood, 102, departed this life on November 18, 2021 peacefully at home. She was the loving wife of the late Robert W. Eastwood.
She was born in New Haven, July 26, 1919, the daughter of the late Gardner M. and Minnie (Rice) Hughes.
Mrs. Eastwood was a graduate of Hillhouse High School and Stone Business College. She had worked at the A.C. Gilbert Company and in the Clerk's Office of the Judicial District of New Haven until her retirement. She was a member of the North Branford Congregational Church, the Mr. and Mrs. Club, and Ladies Sewing Society of the church as well as the ToToket Historical Society. She was a former Past Matron of Princess Chapter #70 Order of the Eastern Star and Past Worthy High Priestess of the White Shrine of Jerusalem.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews of the Gullans and Eastwood families, cousins and dear friends.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 22nd at 11:00 AM at the North Branford Congregational Church, 1680 Foxon Rd., North Branford. Burial will be at the Bare Plain Cemetery in North Branford. There are no calling hours. If friends so desire, gifts in her memory may be made to the North Branford Congregational Church. The B.C.
