MOODY, MARION A.KA MOODY Marion Moody a.k.a. Moody of New Haven, Connecticut, died Sunday, March 23,2015 at Yale New Haven Hospital. Mr. Moody was the son of the late Carrie Lou Moody and Webster Moody, he was born in Augusta, Georgia on September 4, 1936. Mr. Moody leaves behind his wife Mary E. Moody of New Haven and their children Michael Moody, Shawn Moody(Rosalyn)and Deirdre Moody. He also leave to cherish his memory his son Keyshaunt, sister Lois Lumpkin of Oakland, CA along with 6 Grandchildren and a host of family and friends. Moody served as member of the US Air Force stationed in Biloxi, Mississippi from 1954 to 1958. After an honorable discharge Moody first worked for the Veterans Administration and then he worked as a foreman for Local 455 until his retirement. While employed by local 455 he served as a member of the Executive Union Board for many years. He also took pride in being a local entrepreneur. Moody was an avid gardener. He could be found tending his plants and flowers in his garden in the spring and summer, along with his lawn adjacent to his home. The garden was admired by his neighbors and was featured in an article in the “New Haven Register”. Moody loved to fish with his friends in the summer months. However, his most favorite thing to do was barbecue in his yard. Marion would host at least three barbeques a year Memorial Day, Fourth of July and Labor Day. Moody would invite the entire Newhallville Community to his events, along with friends and family members. Moody was predeceased by his brother Norman Walters, formerly of West Haven, Connecticut. A celebration of his life will be held Saturday, March 28, 2015, at 9:30 a.m. at St. Paul A.M.E Church, 150 Dwight St., New Haven, CT 06511. Calling hours will begin at 8:30 a.m. until time of service. Interment in Beaverdale Memorial Park. Services entrusted to McClam Funeral Home, 95 Dixwell Ave., New Haven, CT 06511.
