Philip Fischer Obituary
February 5, 2023
Philip Fischer of Branford died Sunday, February 5, 2023 at his home after a long battle with Parkinson's Disease. He was the beloved husband of Sandra DaRoss Fischer. Philip was born February 21, 1938, in New York City, son of the late Philip and Marion Newell Fischer.
He attended Brooklyn Technical High School, followed by Queens College and Columbia University, from which he graduated as a Civil Engineer. His career path took him from M W Kellogg, where he worked designing oil refineries, to the construction industry working on numerous projects in the City of New York and Connecticut.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his children, Eugene Fischer of Madison, Nicholas (Lynn) Fischer of Stony Creek, Tina Fischer (Douglas Polaner) of Katonah, NY, and Philip Fischer (Kenneth Karp) of Ridgefield, CT, his grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Kyle Fischer, Emily Scales, Eric Fischer, Mason and Tucker Polaner, his great-grandchildren, Annabelle, William and Jack Scales, his brother Robert (Matilde) Fischer of Greenville, SC, and his sister, Marilyn Venuti of Manorville, NY. He was predeceased by his daughter Christina Fischer and his sister, Virginia Fischer.
Relatives and friends may attend a visitation Monday evening from 4:00 – 7:00 at the W. S. Clancy Memorial Funeral Home, 244 North Main Street, Branford and are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial Tuesday morning at 11:00 in St. John Bosco Parish at St. Therese Church, 105 Leetes Island Road, Branford. Burial will follow in Stony Creek Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Willoughby Wallace Memorial Library, 146 Thimble Islands Road, Branford, CT 06405.
