Kenneth P. Kievit

HARDYSTON - Kenneth P. Kievit, 64, of Stockholm, formerly of Lodi, died Tuesday, March 27, 2012.

Ken was the owner of Athenia Mason Supply Inc., Clifton; AMS Trucking, Clifton; and Route 23 Patio, Sussex. He was a Navy veteran. Ken was a Hardyston Township councilman and former mayor. He was a Republican County Committee Executive Board member, chairman of the Municipal Utility Authority, Hardyston, Chairman of the Sussex County Crime Stoppers, on the Board of Director of the Lumber Reserve, St. Mary's Hospital, Passaic, and Newton Memorial Hospital.

Beloved husband of Ann (Marano). Devoted father of Linda Bush and husband, Nicholas, Karen Diehl and husband, William, Janet Leiby and husband, Kraig, Kenneth Kievit Jr. and wife, Sofia, Susan Wesdyk and husband, John, Thomas Kievit and wife, Darlene, Edward Kievit and Kelly Ann Hart. Loving grandfather of 21 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Dear brother of Sharon Kievit and the late Peter Kievit.

Funeral will be Friday, March 30, at 10 a.m. with a 10:30 a.m. chapel service at Santangelo Funeral Home, 300 N. Main St., Lodi. Interment at North Hardyston Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, March 29, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Haryston Ambulance Corps or the Hardyston Fire Department.
